It started with a rapid fluttering of lips and shocked wide eyes. Pretty soon there was a deluge of tears.

“How could you do this to me? How could you cheat me on my birthday?” she wailed.

The entire party had come to a halt. Strains of a happy song stayed suspended in the air. Everyone stared.

“Don’t you like it?”

“Noooo… its blue. I don’t even like blue.”

“It’s what you had asked for baby. Look it even has tiny sparkly star swirls on it.”

“I wanted a Galaxy chocolate cake.”
