Someday
your memory wont ache as much

Someday
I wont feel that sucker punch

Someday
I wont want to rail at God

Someday
I’ll pack and give away your clothes

Someday
I’ll take down the notes off your door

Someday
I’ll put your spectacles away

Someday
I’ll have the strength to revisit your grave.

Someday

  1. Very powerful. My mother passed away in 2008, and I waited a year for us all to grieve, and then I began to clean up. Her art studio, looked like she just stepped out for a quick coffee, and her glasses were still placed by her bedside. I really enjoyed your poem. Thank you.

  2. Such a beautiful, heartfelt poem! the simplicity of your words capture the emotions perfectly! I hope someday is soon and your pain transforms into pleasant memories to treasure without ache.

  3. Deeply agonising!
I feel sorry for your loss! I’m finding no proper words to comfort you. Just pray for the well-being of the departed soul, you and your family!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Best wishes! 🙂
